Build a sample week before moving your cornhole league into an app. Include a substitute, an absent team, and a result reported incorrectly. Those are routine league problems, so they belong in the trial.
Fixtures and standings
Scoreholio’s documentation includes Set Schedule leagues and Ladder play. Check the format and plan against your season length, team count, and number of boards. A format name alone doesn’t settle how your league handles makeup games.
Ask the person doing registration to create a team and replace one player. Then ask the scorekeeper to finish a match. Confirm whether standings update from an accepted result or from any player’s submission.
Keep player and team records separate
A substitute may throw for a team without becoming its permanent second player. Decide whether the league awards standings to the team, tracks individual performance, or does both.
Use stable player identities. “Mike” and “Mike S.” are easy to confuse when exporting a season. Before importing a roster, resolve duplicates and explain who can correct a name.
Our cornhole scorer records raw rounds for PPR, but that doesn’t establish a complete public league administration service.
Run this trial week
- Schedule six teams across two sets of boards.
- Mark one team absent and apply your written absence policy.
- Replace a player without erasing the team’s earlier results.
- Correct a submitted score and inspect the standings.
- Export the week and find the same result in the file.
- Give a second organizer access and have them repeat a correction.
Write down the result of each step, including anything that needs vendor support. That record is more useful than remembering that the demo looked easy.
Before opening registration, publish dues, the substitute policy, makeup deadlines, and tiebreakers. The league setup guide covers those decisions in more detail.
