DartCounter is worth a look for practice and online play. DartConnect is worth a look when a league needs shared match administration. For occasional 501 at home, first check whether a scorer handles busts and corrections the way you expect.
Practice and online opponents
DartCounter documents training games, online play, and scoring tools. Its free and paid plans have different limits, so check the plan that covers the modes you intend to use.
If you enter a visit total, can you also record how many darts finished the leg? A checkout of 40 on the first dart and the same checkout on the third dart should produce different averages. Check what the app asks you to enter before treating its statistics as a practice record.
Team fixtures
DartConnect’s league tools cover lineups and digital match formats. Ask your captain which system the league already uses before starting a separate record. League standings depend on the accepted match report.
Try a fixture with singles and doubles if that is your format. Confirm how you replace an absent player, correct a completed leg, and hand the device to another scorer. Ask where the final report goes.
A quick 501 check
Set up double out, leave 32, and enter a single 16 followed by a single 16. That visit busts because the last dart wasn’t a double; the score returns to 32. Next, finish with double 16 and record one dart used.
Also undo a visit and check that the correct player throws next. A scoring mistake should take seconds to fix.
Our Jesters Sports darts scorer supports 501 and double out. Cricket, 301, double in, and match sets aren’t supported. Use a tool that covers your actual league format.
