League Games
A League Game is a regular cornhole match that you've tagged to a specific league. Only tagged games appear in the League Games Only view on your league page, which is the default view when you open a league.
What is a League Game?
Think of it as an opt-in marker for games that "count" toward your league. Global stats (ELO, career win rate) keep working the same way they always have. League Games are an extra lens: how is this player doing in our league, specifically?
Turning it on
In the lobby, right next to the Ranked toggle, you'll see a League toggle. It's enabled when three things are true:
- Every player in the lobby is a member of the same league (or leagues — see the next section).
- Nobody in the lobby is a guest. Guests don't have league membership.
- No house rules are active. House rules force friendly mode, and League Games must be ranked.
If the toggle is greyed out, hover for a tooltip that tells you which condition isn't met:
- "Guests can't play league games" — remove the guest or have them sign in.
- "Add players all from the same league to play a league game" — you need at least one league everyone belongs to.
- "League games must be ranked — turn off house rules first" — disable Bust Rule and Short Board.
Picking a league when you share more than one
If every player belongs to two or more shared leagues (say, the pub league and the neighborhood crew), a dropdown appears next to the toggle. Your preferred league is selected by default — you can set your preferred league on any league page with the star icon. Pick the one this game should count for.
Retagging a completed game
Open an eligible completed game's recap while signed in. The League game assignment control lets an authorized participant or league administrator add, switch, or remove the assignment.
BagTrax checks the current roster and league membership when you view or save the recap. If a player joins the league after the game, the game can become eligible. Every player must be a registered, current member of the target league. Friendly games, guest games, house-rule games, and tournament games cannot be assigned from a recap.
If the league has seasons, choose one. The season can be outside the game's played date and becomes the game's explicit season for standings and League Only recent games. Leagues without seasons accept a league-only assignment. Existing assignments without an explicit season keep their date-derived season behavior.
What the league page shows
League pages default to League Games Only. The leaderboard, recent games, and stats reflect only the matches your members have explicitly tagged. To see the broader view — every ranked game between league members, tagged or not — click All Stats in the toggle at the top of the stats area. Your URL updates so you can share the exact view.
When a league has no tagged games yet, you'll see a friendly empty state inviting you to tag your next match.
What doesn't change
- Global ELO still updates from every ranked game, including League Games.
- Friendly games never count — not in All Stats, not in League Games Only.
- Eligible completed games can be retagged from their recaps. Tournament games and games with friendly, guest, or house-rule restrictions stay out of League Only.
- An explicit recap season overrides the played date. Older assignments without an explicit season continue using the league's date window.
