For cornhole with several boards running, check Scoreholio. For a bracket that can cover several kinds of games, check Challonge. For eight friends sharing one set of boards, a printed schedule may be enough.
Compare the work you need to do
| Setup | Candidate | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| Several cornhole boards | Scoreholio | Board assignments and result correction |
| Mixed yard games | Challonge | Separate brackets for your events |
| One small afternoon | Paper schedule | Clear pairings and one results sheet |
Scoreholio documents cornhole tournament scoring and board assignments. Challonge lists single elimination, double elimination, round robin, and Swiss formats.
A bracket feature doesn’t tell you whether an app scores bocce, ladder toss, or cornhole correctly. If you only need winners recorded, enter final results. If you want every throw recorded, ask for a demonstration of that sport’s scoring.
Run a small trial event
Create six teams, give two similar names, and put a team in the wrong slot. Correct the roster before starting. Next, submit the wrong winner and fix it after the following match has been assigned.
Record who is allowed to make that correction. Decide whether players submit scores or report them to one organizer. A group chat full of conflicting results is difficult to reconcile halfway through an event.
For several sports, keep one team identifier across every bracket. “Team 3” should remain Team 3 when cornhole ends and darts starts. Publish the overall points system before the first event; individual brackets don’t automatically produce a fair combined champion.
Plan around equipment
Count usable boards, courts, and volunteers before setting a start time. Sixteen teams on one board take far longer than the same bracket on four boards. Reserve time for registration, warmups, and a final that starts late.
Use the tournament checklist to prepare whichever tool you choose.
